What is a prayer treatment, otherwise known as Spiritual Mind Treatment?

In Science of Mind Dr. Ernest Holmes wrote "A treatment is a statement in the Law, embodying the concrete idea of our desires and accompanied by an unqualified faith that the Law works for us, as we work with It. Let us waste no further time looking for the secret of success or the key to happiness. Already the door is open and whosoever will may enter".
There are actually five steps to performing a Spiritual Mind Treatment. They are:
- RECOGNITION
- UNIFICATION
- REALIZATION
- THANKSGIVING
- RELEASE
The first step, RECOGNITION is where we formally recognize that God is all there is, and all that is, is God. The next step is UNIFICATION and this is where we acknowledge that we are one with God, our creator and all that is within the universe. We simply state that we are an individualized expression of that One. The third step is REALIZATION where we know the truth of what we are stating into the Law. We realize that our words are cause and the Law must respond. We state clearly and conspicuously the specifics of what we are treating for. We know what we say is the truth and it already is manifested. The second to last step in Spiritual Mind Treatment is our THANKSGIVING. Here we give thanks for all the blessings we have and will receive. The very last step is to RELEASE. Here we release our words into the Law knowing that they are answered as they were spoken. We know it is so, and so we then say, "And so it is...".
A biblical example of these five steps is illustrated by Ernest Holmes also in his book Science of Mind where he writes "The power of Jesus is understood when we study His method of procedure. Consider His raising of Lazarus from the dead. Standing at the tomb, He gave thanks; this was recognition. He next said: "I know that thou hearest me always;" this was unification. Then He said: "Lazarus, come forth;" this was command [realization]. The method is perfect and we shall do well to follow it. This method can be used in all MIND treatment. First, realize that Divine Power is; then unify with It; and then speak the word as 'one having authority' for the Law is "the servant of the Eternal Spirit throughout all the ages."
